The lasting emotional impact of Bill's story-songs comes from the fact that that they transport you into the life of the characters.   Bill sees the pain of others and makes the source of that pain understandable to anyone.   Teenagers who run away from home,   children who have learning disabilities,   the poor and homeless,  the bereaved, the elderly, the socially outcast -- these are the heroes and heroines of  the songs from this remarkable songwriter's pen.
