Impresario   Words and Music by Bill Pere

P.T. Barnum could confound 'em with his yarn-a-minute spiel,
Show you things that you could see and touch but somehow were not real... American Museum, Three Ring circus Oh,
He was America's first and greatest impresario!

Town of Bridgeport, nineteenth century time,
Phineas T. Barnum was making the headlines
The voice of Jenny Lind, the General Tom Thumb,
He'd set up the events  and watch the crowds of people come

P.T. Barnum could confound 'em with his yarn-a-minute spiel,
Show you things that you could see and touch but somehow were not real... American Museum, Three Ring circus Oh,
He was America's first and greatest impresario!

Mr. Barnum's blustery ballyhoo was incessant and was loud,
His silver-tongued hyperbole  sure could fool a crowd
With mermaids, centenarians, a great white elephant,
But the fun the people had made being fooled irrelevant...

P.T. Barnum could confound 'em with his yarn-a-minute spiel,
Show you things that you could see and touch but somehow were not real... American Museum, Three Ring circus Oh,
He was America's first and greatest impresario!
