Kyla and the Cupcakes Words and Music by Bill Pere Kyla tried to smile a while but couldn't cause she ate a pile of cupcakes with cement mixed in the Cool Whip Kyla's day had trials mixed in it, seems they came a mile a minute, but she kept a real stiff upper lip... She sat there in the yard, they told her life was hard But she won't give up, she won't throw in the towel She sat in the garden, her lips started to harden... She wondered, should she throw in a trowel? Kyla tried to smile a while but couldn't cause she ate a pile of cupcakes with cement mixed in the Cool Whip Kyla's day had trials mixed in it, seems they came a mile a minute, but she kept a real stiff upper lip... A woodpecker up in a tree said nobody pecks like me He hammered holes like he was demented; Then Kyla took her turn, that bird had much to learn, You can't compete with lips that are cemented. Kyla tried to smile a while but couldn't cause she ate a pile of cupcakes with cement mixed in the Cool Whip Kyla's day had trials mixed in it, seems they came a mile a minute, but she kept a real stiff upper lip... I couldn't believe she ate it; Green olives were things she hated With slimy, slippery, squishy red pimento She chomped down with those rocky lips, for the olive it was apocolypse She said, “Just call me Cemento!” Kyla tried to smile a while but couldn't cause she ate a pile of cupcakes with cement mixed in the Cool Whip Kyla's day had trials mixed in it, seems they came a mile a minute, but she kept a real stiff upper lip... By the end of the day it was fun when she thought of the things she'd done She began to hope no one would ever fix her New games she invented with lips that were cemented, She said “Let's go out and get a cement mixer!” © Copyright Bill Pere.
